I think canceling once at least a few days in advance is acceptable, but they really have to make an effort immediately after that — Tacos and Beers in a strip mall definitely doesn’t qualify as “making an effort”, especially when both adults are well past their early 20s! From what I’m reading, most of these guys either don’t have the capability to live a similar lifestyle as you do or they aren’t at the same intellectual or emotional maturity level as you are at. Either way, hard pass is the only option.
