Jodi, I applaud your bravery in sharing something so personal. I have heard of asexuality a long time ago, but there is so little visibility of this group of people compared to all other sexual identities. I do, however, 100% agree with Pua Nani. We change so much in our life time you just never know how your sexuality might change. Before I had sex at the “ripe old age” of 25, my experience was more or less similar to yours. I was not sure if my then-virginity will prevent almost every guy from wanting to date me. As expected, my disclosure was met with surprise but nonetheless understood and respected. I made it clear that I “held out” for this long not because I’m a prude or religious. Men who are truly interested in you will take this information as nothing more than something like learning about your taste in music etc.

With that being said, it’s perfectly okay to feel how you feel about sex at this moment. I’m glad that you have an open mind to the possibility of sex in the future. And also applaud you pointing out that we should not be ostracized because we do or don’t do certain things that “everybody does”.
