Just reading about this, Bonnie! I’ve been so behind on your Medium posts lately. I think you highlighted an important aspect of online dating — most people are perfectly normal and nice, but not a match for us. Because there really aren’t that many people who will be anyway. It’s an incredibly rare thing for two people to like each other at the same time.

I’ve been completely away from the online dating scene for the past couple of months and honestly I don’t miss it. What I miss is the random connections I made when I met people in real life (albeit that’s getting harder and harder). I remember how someone’s mannerism can be so endearing even though they don’t necessarily fit into “my type”; how a person’s caring voice can be so attractive; and how their vast knowledge about certain topics can be a big turn-on.
