This is such a fascinating study. As someone who’s never participated in the hookup culture, I may be on the other side of the extreme. I came to the United States as an international student on a full-scholarship — hooking up and partying was last on my list. I’ve always known that I would not enjoy the experience if the other person is not someone I feel connected with. In fact, I’ve only slept with people I have loved. However, we’ve been fed by the media that somehow men are way less relationship-oriented and they are always able to separate sex with love. It’s refreshing to learn that it is far from the truth. I think people should start to realize that despite our differences (be it gender, age, race etc.), we’re more similar than we think. Great job on the writing!
